L.E.S. Cirque Pop-Up at Hotel Rivington
Just came home from a unique, well-executed experience at L.E.S. Cirque. For non-NYCers, L.E.S. stands for Lower East Side where Hotel Rivington claims as home, and it is the temporary location for a Grey Goose Sponsored soiree. Quite clever.
The lobster-themed menu was well-thought out (and this is coming from a native New Englander) and executed with flair from Le Cirque executive chef, Craig Hopson. The event was thrown by Guerilla Culinary Brigade.
Check out the menu with the vintage Le Cirque plates.
Whale meat…too far?
Vinny Dotolo, one of the guys behind LA hotspots Son of a Gun and Animal, recently vouched for the oral pleasures of whale meat.
“I just had whale and it was amazing, in Japan,” he told NY Mag. “Amazing. I see why people eat it. There’s a reason why the Japanese desire it. It’s so fatty and rich. They’re not just sacrificing its life for nothing.”
We fully support adventurous dining, but is whale meat taking it too far? Do you think there is a difference eating it in Japan versus anywhere else? Let us know what you think!
